 Fossil Cove is a superb island hideaway featuring sophisticated tribal interiors. All set within an amazing coastal headland of 12 acres (5 hectares) with its own beaches, native forest, manicured gardens, helipad and 17 metre (50ft) heated infinity pool. Fossil Cove has six romantic bedrooms (each with spacious marble-walled ensuites), and gorgeous kitchen, dining and living spaces. Every room has panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf with its uninhabited islands and extinct volcanos.

Our onsite helipad makes helicopter transfers easy. Ferries also available.

Owners Residence

The residence  is 700m2 (7000 sq ft) and has been designed using natural materials (including local stone, woven bamboo ceilings and travertine floors) to complement the extraordinary collections of tribal artifacts displayed there.

The residence also features romantic open fireplaces, Bose sound system, 2 TV areas, 2 outdoor dining areas, 2 barbecues, gym, chef’s kitchen, scullery, conservatory and library. Upstairs comprises of 4 bedrooms with full ensuites two king-sized bedrooms  (the beds can be divided into singles). Two queen-sized bedrooms feature a queen-size bed and 2 singles (which can be combined to form a king bed).

Downstairs we have 2 bedrooms with either 2 king beds or 4 king single beds. With 2 full bathrooms. All beds have crisp white linen including Sohotel down lodge pillows in Yves Delorme pillow slips, with luxurious mohair rugs.  Three of the four master suites are air-conditioned.

OUR RATES

The residence NZ 10,000  a night (maximum 10 guests) for a minimum 7-night stay. That includes daily butler service, champagne, fruit bowl, and transfers to and from the ferry wharf or helipad.

The Sanctum Discounts are available for stays of 7 nights or more outside of peak times. $2000 a night (maximum 4 guests) for a minimum 3-night stay. That includes daily butler service, champagne, fruit bowl, and transfer to and from the ferry wharf or helipad

Our peak time (mid-December to the end of January) is often booked 12 months in advance. A deposit of 50% is required to confirm the booking, with the balance of 50% required at least 7 days before arrival at Fossil Cove.
